Virtually every kind of event you can imagine has taken place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. From sporting events to trade shows, there is no limit to the number of ways this 100,800-square-foot space can be utilized. With three separate exhibition halls, a ballroom, two meeting rooms, and a special events plaza, this extremely spacious building is perfect for almost any occasion. One of the most popular features of this enormous edifice is the 50 by 240-foot mural that graces one of its exterior walls. During the 1993 construction of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, legendary environmental artist Wyland was commissioned to beautify the outside of the structure by adorning its north wall with one of his renowned “Whaling Wall” murals. This breathtaking painting features three right whales, bottlenose dolphins, and loggerhead turtles and, through his lone efforts, Wyland was able to complete it in an astounding seven days. Visitors come from far and wide to gaze at this spectacular work of art.
