you in part by: Osprey CamJust twenty years ago, the beautiful, migratory osprey made its home along Hilton Head Island and other regions in the South Carolina Low Country for part of the year. Since the early 1970s, efforts have been made to restore their population numbers; the banning of DDT, an insecticide, has helped the birds make a fast recovery. The Palmetto Electric Cooperative operates the Live Osprey Web Cam, a Hilton Head Island Web Cams that showcases these feathered beauties as they congregate atop the communications tower at Palmetto Electric's Hilton Head Operations Center. This "bird’s eye view” is great for bird lovers everywhere! |
